What causes could not initialize Torque: nulljava.lang.NullPointerException? PDF Print E-mail
Question

When using the LexiconService WSDL and when I try to submit a request using soapUI I got "could not initialize Torque: nulljava.lang.NullPointerException" in Tomcat. What I got in soap response is exactly what I submit. Can anyone here experience enought to tell me how to fix this?

Answer

The statement "Using torque path: null" says your Torque variable is not defined or incorrectly defined.

You need to make certain there is a directory that holds the torque.properties file and the torque properties file points to your metadata.

Also there must be a system variable, TORQUE_PATH, that holds the directory.

When you run the service in 'non-fake' mode you should see the the cache load on the tomcat console.

A number of problems might happen with your soap message and these might show-up here. Post the error you are getting on here and we will look at it.
