Business Objects PDF Print E-mail

The Business Objects tab allows you to create new business objects, or view and edit existing business objects.

Types of Business Objects

There is only a single 'type' of business object in Lexicon, but it is up to the user to determine the composition of each business object. Business objects may be composed of zero or more parameters, as well as zero or more child business objects (a business object must contain at least one parameter or one child business object in order to be valid in Lexicon).

The main purpose of a business object is to organize data. A business object itself does not contain any data, but provides structure to your various data attributes.

Business Objects and Requirements

Many business objects will be evident from the requirements of the application you are implementing in Lexicon. Database operations such as inserting, updating, and deleting can make the need for some business objects to be obvious. Other business objects will become necessary as your application is implemented - data loading objects, for example; perhaps error objects, etc.

It will be easiest for you to construct your business objects in Lexicon once all of your parameters have been defined.
