Parameters are the basic data containers in business objects. One might think of them as corresponding to cells in a database table or spreadsheet or to variables in a computer program.
The types of parameters
OpenLexicon's parameters come in seven types, boolean, character, date, float, integer, string and value lists, the first six being the familiar types from most computer languages and the last being a customizable list of values.
Using parameters
Related parameters are grouped to form business objects.
Example
The parameters:
  • "Quantity", an INTEGER parameter that represents the number of items;
  • "Unit Price", a FLOAT parameter that represents the price per item; and
  • "Color", a value list parameter that represents the color of an item (This value list might consist of "vermillion", "chartreuse", and "puce".)
could be collected to form a "Sale" business object.
